Love Isn’t Something We Do. It’s Something We Become. (Live in Grace 🔹 Walk in Love by Bob Goff)

Life can feel like a whirlwind, can’t it? With a never-ending to-do list and a schedule that’s always jam-packed, it’s easy to get swept up in the chaos of it all. As women navigating the complexities of modern life, it’s easy to feel pulled in a million different directions.
The Greatest of These is Love
1 Corinthians 13:13 says, “And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.” Think about that for a moment. Love isn’t just another fleeting emotion or a passing feeling.
God is Love
1 John 4:7-8 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
Love is more than just romantic gestures or grand declarations. It’s about showing kindness, compassion, and empathy towards others – whether it’s our significant other, family members, friends, or even strangers we encounter along the way. Love has the power to heal wounds, mend broken relationships, and bring joy to our lives.
Faith: Strength in Trust
Hebrews 11:1 – “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”
Faith gives us strength and courage to face life’s challenges head-on. It’s about trusting in something greater than ourselves, knowing that we’re never alone on this journey. Even during the darkest of times, faith allows us to see the light at the end of the tunnel and keep moving forward with unwavering determination.
Hope by the Power of the Holy Spirit
Romans 15:13 – “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Hope is what keeps us going when everything seems hopeless. It’s the belief that better days are ahead, despite the obstacles we may encounter. Hope whispers to us in moments of doubt, reminding us to keep dreaming, keep striving, and keep believing in a brighter tomorrow.
Nourishing Our Souls
How do we gain this faith, hope and love?
Psalm 119:11 – “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.”
Reading the Bible can be a source of comfort and inspiration, offering guidance and wisdom for our daily lives. Consider carving out a quiet space each day to reflect on a verse that resonates with you. Allow its message to sink deep into your heart, offering peace and strength in moments of need.
Journaling is another wonderful way to practice mindfulness. Set aside some time each day to jot down your thoughts, feelings, and prayers. Use this sacred space to pour out your heart, express gratitude, and reflect on your journey of faith. Whether you prefer traditional pen and paper or digital journaling tools, find a method that resonates with you and commit to making it a regular practice.

Bible Art Journaling is a creative, fun way to ponder Bible verses and pray.
Embracing Love, One Day at a Time
According to Bob Goff, , “Love isn’t something we do, like a job. It’s someone we become, like Jesus.”That is a powerful statement, one I have been pondering for a few days. “Love isn’t something we DO. It’s someone we BECOME.
Love isn’t about checking off tasks like taking food to a neighbor; it’s more about who we are at our core, like the example set by Jesus. It’s not just about doing nice things occasionally; it’s about becoming someone who naturally embodies care and kindness, just like Jesus did. We become vessels of his unconditional and transformative love in the world.
Thankfully, God doesn’t expect us to do this perfectly. And with a never-ending to-do list and a schedule that’s always jam-packed, the thought of succeeding at it can feel impossible. But, let’s commit today to try to be more like Jesus… to “give away love like we’re made of it” (Bob Goff) by taking it one day at a time.
