Finding Beauty in the Everyday
Hey there, busy ladies! I know that life can feel like a non-stop whirlwind of responsibilities. From house cleaning to meal preps, it’s easy to get caught up in the chaos. But today, let me share a little moment of calm that might just resonate with you.
As I make my drive home, there’s this one spot along the highway that always catches my eye. It’s a field of sunflowers, standing tall and proud, their golden faces turned toward the sun. It’s like nature’s own little symphony, playing a song of joy and warmth.
One evening, as I was preparing to Bible Journal, I stumbled across Psalm 104:14:
“He makes grass grow for the cattle, and plants for people to cultivate—bringing forth food from the earth.”
Now, I know sunflowers aren’t exactly what comes to mind when we talk about food, but they’re a reminder of the incredible beauty and diversity of nature. (Their seeds are also consumed by many a baseball player!) This verse in Psalm 104 made me think of the sunflower field I pass on my way home.
In the midst of our busy lives, it’s easy to forget the little miracles that surround us every day. The growth of a sunflower, from a tiny seed to a towering presence, is a testament to the wonder of God’s creation. It’s a reminder that even in the rush of everyday life, there’s beauty waiting to be discovered.
As moms, we’re often like those sunflowers – standing strong, being resilient, and providing love and support to those around us. We face challenges head-on, always working hard to take care of our family. A sunflower provides seeds for birds and nectar for bees. Similarly, a mom nurtures her family by providing love, care, and support. She’s always there to make sure everyone has what they need.
So, the next time you find yourself caught up in the whirlwind, take a moment to remember those sunflowers. Embrace the beauty in the everyday. See the incredible potential in the small seeds you’re planting the lives of those around you. You are part of a bigger design, a grand plan that weaves together every moment, every effort, and every smile. Just like those sunflowers, you’re a beacon of light and love in the world. So, stand tall, turn your face towards the sun, and let your unique beauty shine.

Thank you for this reminder! This is just what this busy mama needed to read today!
Such a good reminder Shannon. Now that my kids are grown I can attest those “seeds” do grow and flower. It’s beautiful to watch! Rock on moms!
Thank you for this incredibly edifying post this morning! I have never seen a field of sunflowers in person but would love to someday! Merry Christ sweet sister … 🙏💕
